Where in the World is Jenna Jaxon? Final Part

Hi, Everyone.

I know it may seem like I dropped off the face of the world, and that’s pretty much what happened. The last you heard from me I was in Venice, about to go on a gondola ride on my final day there.

And then everything changed.

I woke up to a text from my husband, who had chest pains and didn’t feel well. It was 7am in Venice, but 1am in Virginia. I pursuaded him to go to the ER (a friend of my daughter’s took him) and I called my daughter who lives an hour and a half away and asked her to head to Gloucester. Then I called the airlines and changed my flights. I was supposed to continue on to Bozen, Italy with Ella Quinn, then to Germany, then to London before flying home. Instead I flew out that Friday night from Venice to London, then caught an early flight home the next morning, finally landing in Virginia at 2:30 pm on Saturday.

By that time my husband’s white count was off the charts and he’d been diagnosed with gallstones in his common bile duct. Serious if not treated, but finally on Tuesday they extracted the stones and on Thursday they took out the gallbladder. He got to come home on Friday. Except for being rather sore, my husband is doing very well, so I finally had time to explain where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing. I’m sure everyone understands.

However, because my flight out of Venice wasn’t until 9:45pm, I actually got to take the gondola ride! Here are pictures of it, quite an experience that I will never forget.

So that was my whirlwind Italian adventure. I hope to go back next year to see Rome and Ella’s home in Bozen and maybe some other parts of Europe. Until then, “Ciao!”

When my ex had kidney stones – twice! – it was an awful ordeal. I’m much better at dealing with my own pain than someone else’s. All my best to hubby and for your chances to see those sights!!
