Happy Holidays!
Every month I write a post for another historical romance blod called Historical Hussies. I’m supposed to post the first Wednesday of each month, but somehow I completley forgot December 1st was the first Wednesday. So I was in the midst of writing a post to be posted yesterday, and I was called away and not able to schedule it until today.
Since I wrote about an historical Christmas topic–food–I thought my readers might like to hop over to Historical Hussies and take a look at it. As I was writing it, I really wanted to make some of these dishes for Christmas! Take a look and see if you don’t too! I’ve listed my sources and they have the recipes.
Traditional Victorian Christmas Dishes
One of my favorite Christmas movies is the 1970 musical Scrooge with Albert Finney. The production values of the film are wonderful—as you watch it you truly feel transported into the Victorian London of Charles Dickens. In one sequence Bob Cratchit is heading home, buying Christmas presents, food and drink for the family’s Christmas celebration the following Christmas Day.
